:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Leslie Ermert -- Well worth the wait : Hambley has a lot of irons in the fire, so it was quite a wait for the next Benjamin January book, but when it finally arrived it was worth the wait. Hambley never disappoints. I so enjoy the struggles of January, a free educated black man trying to navigate in the world where he often has to dumb down his speech and actions just to survive. The stories are compelling and the characters endearing. I hope the next book has January traveling less so we see more of the New Orleans characters, his mom, his sister, Rose and the kids, and my favorite, Hannibal.
